Documentation

Everything you need to know about using UnityCal.

Introduction

UnityCal is a powerful calendar bridge that unifies your Google, Outlook, and iCloud calendars into a single, cohesive view. It eliminates the hassle of switching between multiple apps and ensures you never miss an event, regardless of which platform it originates from.

What UnityCal Does

Syncs your calendars in real-time.

Visualizes all your upcoming events in one dashboard.

Detects Conflicts automatically across providers.

Getting Started

1. Connect Your Accounts

Navigate to the Settings page. Here you will find options to connect:

  • Google Calendar: Standard OAuth login.
  • Outlook (Microsoft 365): Standard Microsoft login.
  • iCloud: Requires an App-Specific Password.

How to create an App-Specific Password:

    1. Sign in to appleid.apple.com.
    2. Go to App-Specific Passwords (under "Sign-In and Security").
    3. Click the + icon and enter a name (e.g., "UnityCal").
    4. Copy the generated password (e.g., abcd-efgh-ijkl-mnop) and paste it into UnityCal.

2. Configure Sync Direction

Choose which calendars should sync to which. UnityCal can sync one-way (e.g., Work → Personal) or two-way to keep everything aligned.

3. Go Mobile

Download the UnityCal mobile app to manage your schedule on the go. Sign in with the same credentials to access your unified dashboard anywhere.

Mobile-First Access

Take your unified calendar anywhere with our responsive mobile app, optimized for touch and speed.

Mobile Experience

UnityCal is built to be as powerful on your phone as it is on your desktop. Our mobile app provides a native-feeling experience with 4 key tabs:

  • Home: A snapshot of your day with greeting, 2x2 stats grid, and upcoming week feed.
  • Calendar: A dedicated agenda view with a collapsible week/month strip for fast navigation.
  • Events: Separate "Upcoming" and "History" tabs to help you track schedule changes.
  • Settings: Full control over your providers and group memberships on the go.

"The mobile app brings a level of polish that makes managing three different calendar platforms feel like one."

Groups & Sharing

UnityCal now supports Groups, allowing multiple accounts to link under a single team or family group.

Creating & Joining Groups

  • Setup: Navigate to the bottom of the Settings page to create a new Group or enter an invite code to join an existing one.
  • Collaboration: Once joined, members can share their calendar visibility and events with each other effortlessly.
  • Member Personalization: Click the settings icon next to a group member to hide specific calendars or local color overrides—perfect for keeping your team view clean.
  • Group-to-Provider Sync: Push group events directly into your personal Google or Outlook calendars. Look for the sync icon next to the "Invite Code" in group settings.

Troubleshooting

Events appearing on the wrong day?

We recently fixed an issue where All-Day events appeared on the previous day (-1 day offset) due to timezone differences. If you still see this, please refresh the page. Our system now automatically adjusts UTC midnight timestamps to your local time.

Sync taking too long?

Sync usually happens within seconds, but provider rate limits (especially Google) can sometimes cause delays. Check the "Sync Status" on your dashboard; if it stays "Syncing..." for more than a few minutes, try refreshing the page.
